Get into the holiday mood with a round of taboo. Use the Wordwall English/German index card style quiz, or use the vocabulary posts instead. Do your students know that the Oxford Learner’s Dictionary has a graded vocabulary section, too? Check the link out with them.

Next, an excursion into grammar, whether it’s the future (present continuous/going to) or the present perfect for finding out favourite/best destination your students have (ever) visited. They can train the tenses with 2-holiday postcards.

A dream holiday for many (myself included) is Oz. Use the map/pictures to open conversations and suggest a visit to Cairns. Watch the vid (including the English/German vocabulary list) and discuss whether or not Cairns is for them.

And last but not least, a negative side to travel is the travel. There’s an English/German vocabulary matching quiz, a text, and questions to get them talking about their holiday experiences.
