Some builds are about horsepower. Others are about trophies. RWBY is about survival.

This 2012 Dodge Charger SE entered its owner's life just weeks before the COVID shutdown. What was meant to be a simple daily driver quickly became something much bigger—a creative outlet and a lifeline through one of the darkest chapters of life. As isolation and depression took hold, the build became a way to keep moving forward, transforming what many would have considered a lemon into a rolling work of art.

The satin black wrap tells the story. The darkness represents the struggles of depression, while the shattered geometric cracks symbolize breaking through those battles one piece at a time. Every modification reflects perseverance, proving that even in the darkest moments, beauty can emerge.

The entire build is inspired by the anime RWBY, specifically the character Ruby Rose. Her journey of leadership, sacrifice, resilience, and overcoming impossible odds deeply resonated with the owner, making this Charger a tribute not only to the series but to personal growth and healing. Adding to its significance, the incredible exterior artwork was created by @osyrusda1 on Instagram, and the voice actor for Ruby Rose has personally signed the car in two locations.

RWBY features an impressive list of upgrades, including SRT8 front and rear bumpers, a Hellcat hood and spoiler, carbon fiber accents throughout, custom retrofitted VLAND lighting with Flow Series halos, a fully airbrushed RWBY-themed engine bay, custom badges, satin black wrap protected by PPF, and countless one-of-a-kind engraved details. Inside, the theme continues with red leather seats, a custom carbon fiber steering wheel, airbrushed interior panels, upgraded 8.4-inch infotainment, LED accent lighting, a 100th Anniversary gauge cluster, and a fully customized trunk.

While this Charger once spent its weekends at car shows and on road trips, it has found a new home at Countyline Raceway, parked in the dirt alongside race haulers as sprint cars throw dust into the air. It's a reminder that passion isn't defined by polished concrete or show trophies—it's found wherever people gather to celebrate the machines they love.

RWBY isn't just a custom Charger. It's proof that sometimes the vehicle you build ends up rebuilding you.
