Safta Hood Crochet Pattern, Granny Stitch Hood With Ties (PDF)
Safta means grandma in Hebrew, and this hood has that cozy, old fashioned feel of something a grandma would tie under your chin before you head out into the wind.
The whole hood starts as one rectangle. You work stripes of granny stitch and single crochet, fold it in half, join the top, then add chain ties and tassels if you like. No shaping, no increases and no separate pieces.
What you get:
- An ad free, printable PDF (3 pages)
- Full written instructions in US terms
- Construction photos
- Stitch key and the special stitch explained
Details:
- Skill level: Intermediate
- Yarn: weight 4 Aran acrylic (I used Cygnet Aran in beige and blue), or any weight 4 yarn from your stash
- Hook: 4.25 mm
- Size: 11" x 27" rectangle before folding
The free version is on my blog too. The PDF is for when you want it printed, ad free and all in one place, and it’s a lovely way to support my work. Thank you!
