Rainfall and Thunder Sounds Singapore
During our stay in Geylang, Singapore, several nights of intense rain brought perfect recording opportunities. One night, heavy rain hammering on a metal roof woke me up. I grabbed my gear and stepped outside, sheltered under the “five-foot way” arcade, to record the stormy night.
That night’s recordings include a taxi pulling up and driving away, doors opening and closing, rain splashing on wet roads and metal roofs, and the low hum of air conditioners layered with occasional thunder. The scene had a moody, cinematic feel, almost like stepping into Blade Runner.
You’ll also hear softer moments between the downpours, the sound of a cat eating nearby, and the shifting textures of a tropical city storm. Perfect for eerie soundscapes, urban weather scenes, or atmospheric sound design.
