Dividing Scientific Notation Chain Reaction Activity | Scientific Notation Practice
Practice dividing numbers in scientific notation with this Dividing Scientific Notation Chain Reaction Activity. Students solve each problem, find the matching answer on another strip, and connect the pieces together to build a completed chain.
The problems are intentionally not always written in proper scientific notation. This gives students extra practice dividing, adjusting powers of ten, and moving the decimal point to write answers correctly in scientific notation.
This activity can be used as independent practice, partner work, stations, or review. If students make an error, the chain will not connect correctly, giving them a built-in way to check their work as they go. Completed chains can also be displayed as student work around the classroom.
