366 - THE GOLDEN LINES
366 - THE GOLDEN LINES
Documentary · 81 min · 2017 · Original English Version
What if our megalithic ancestors possessed scientific knowledge that we have forgotten?
Throughout Western Europe, megaliths are part of our common landscapes. We encounter them constantly, with diverse feelings: reverence, admiration, or simple curiosity, always benevolent, before these witnesses of another age. But invariably persists an impression, the feeling that something fundamental escapes us in the erection of these stone monuments.
Researchers Alan Butler and Sylvain Tristan invite us to rediscover 366-degree geometry. This science should have given rise to a tremendous resurgence of interest and scientific studies regarding the megalithic phenomenon. Indeed, behind the rather crude appearance of our dolmens and menhirs, lies a geometry whose beauty and properties border on perfection. Perhaps it is this perfection, seeming anachronistic, that makes the scientific community so cautious about the subject. Yet, the reality of such geometry, reconciling time and space, becomes evident once we grasp its relevance, scope, and beauty.
Megalithism is also a people. While in this 21st century, wars and chaos reign everywhere on earth, it is time to rediscover and draw inspiration from this peaceful people, these adventurous travelers passionate about astronomy and mathematics.
This documentary aims to retrace this formidable epic of the past and sciences, flirting with the extraordinary.
