“What’s Missing?” for kindergarten students involves very basic concepts that are suitable for their developmental level. Each row has a simple, easily identifiable pattern or sequence with missing element(s). The sequences can be based on shapes, colors, letters, numbers, or objects. Children will develop pattern recognition skills, enhance counting and basic math skills, improve colour and shape identification, and foster early literacy with alphabet recognition.

Instructions:

  • Children will identify the missing element(s) on each sheet.
  • Children can either say the answer out loud, draw or write the missing element or use physical markers/tokens around the classroom to represent the missing element.
  • Teachers can also print out the answer key and cut out the missing elements for children to glue the elements on the blank sheet.
