Whether you’re preparing for the Diploma in Mental Health or simply want to broaden your knowledge of psychiatry, this course is designed with you in mind.
Over 3 to 6 months, you’ll explore more than twenty essential psychiatry topics, guided by lessons drawn from leading textbooks and clinical practice. At the end of the course, you’ll complete an exam to consolidate your learning and measure your progress.
This course is CPD accredited, awarding you 25 General CEUs upon successful completion.
The course was created by Dr. Kajal Patel, a registrar at a tertiary psychiatric hospital in the Eastern Cape, who is passionate about making psychiatry more accessible to doctors across South Africa.

Originally created for clinicians preparing for the Diploma in Mental Health, the course also includes guidance on approaching OSCE stations, which form part of the oral exam. Even if you’re not preparing for the Diploma, these OSCE-style scenarios offer valuable, real-world tools to help you navigate consultations with mental health care users more confidently.
