Apley Castle B+W
Black and White image of Apley Castle Telford
Hidden among the trees of Apley Woods lies one of Telford’s quiet treasures — Apley Castle, a reminder of Shropshire’s rich medieval heritage.
Originally built in the 14th century by the Charlton family, this fortified manor has witnessed centuries of change — from Civil War battles to Georgian grandeur. Though much of the later mansion was lost, parts of the medieval castle still stand, lovingly restored into beautiful private homes surrounded by peaceful woodland.
Today, Apley Woods offers a tranquil escape where nature and history intertwine — winding paths, wildlife, and glimpses of ancient stonework that tell stories of the past.
📸 Whether you’re drawn by its history, its architecture, or the way the light filters through the old trees, Apley Castle is a place that captures both heart and imagination.
