This is a caged under-bust corset pattern with a beautiful curve to accentuate your waist. Sizes (UK) 8 -20 (US 4 - 16). There is a reduction of 3'' at the waist applied to the standard sizes. INCLUDES A 25 PAGE DOCUMENT OF CORSET CONSTRUCTION NOTES!
This design is meant to be worn over clothing due to the caged nature of its construction - if worn against the skin flesh can 'puff' out through the 'windows'. Although this is something to be aware of, bobbinet, lace, and certain types of fabric can be added to the inside to prevent this happening and retain the flesh, however please note that this pattern does not include a pattern for this extra layer. The pattern consists of templates with indicative points to ensure optimum bone spacing and precision measurement.
Note: this is not a beginner's entry level corset design! The overriding factor with this design is precision – ensuring facing panels don’t show from behind, and that you have evenly spaced boning channels and perfect stitching along those boning channels. It is however a beautiful, comfortable and unique design.
A 2’’ back gap is factored into this pattern. If you would prefer your corset to close at the back, add 1’’ (25.4mm) to the edge of each panel 7 (the actual measurements of the corset will therefore be 2'' smaller than those detailed in the table below).
The corset length measures 34cm at the centre front and 36cm at the back. There are two options for the bottom line.
This pattern is drafted in AutoCAD and available as an instant download - you will need to print out on size letter (A) or A4 paper, making sure 'actual size' and 'centre the print' is ticked in your print dialogue box. It is recommended that you make a toile to the largest of your measurements to check the fit of the pattern – at this stage you can take in the smaller of your measurements, lengthen or shorten if need be, and transfer these amendments to your pattern to ensure a perfect fitting corset! Note - corset length is important to prevent the bones buckling and ballooning when sitting as they 'float' around the rib cage and hips in a different manner to standard 'fixed' corsets.
