Telluric is a loose bottom-up drop shoulder sweater with large colourwork motifs on the body and texture details. It starts with the marled seed stitch split hem. The body is then knitted in the round with a floral all-over colourwork pattern until the armholes. Steeks are cast-on for the armholes, then for the neck to continue knitting the upper body in the round. The steeks are then opened and the shoulders joined using a three-needle bind-off. The sleeves are picked up and knitted downwards until the marled seed stitch cuffs. Finally, I-cords are worked around all edges of the sweater to create a polished finish.

The sample was knitted by always holding two strands of Helix together ; creating a soft, precise colourwork and allowing the marled textures to pop. If you wish to double two different lace weight yarns (one with mohair or alpaca for example) or if you simply want to use one strand of fingering weight throughout, the pattern includes notes on how to work the seed stitch for a similar result.

You will need two colours of lace or light fingering weight yarn in the following amounts :
MC : 2 x 800 (850 / 900 / 1000 / 1050 / 1150), 1250 (1350 / 1450 / 1550 / 1600 / 1700) meters
2 x 875 (930 / 985 / 1095 / 1150 / 1260), 1370 (1480 / 1590 / 1700 / 1750 / 1860) yards
CC : 2 x 425 (450 / 500 / 550 / 600 / 650), 700 (750 / 800 / 850 / 900 / 950) meters
2 x 465 (495 / 550 / 605 / 660 / 715), 770 (825 / 875 / 930 / 985 / 1040) yards
The yarns are held double throughout. You may chose to double the yarn with itself or with another lace weight. To use simple fingering weight instead, plan only 1 x the amount written for your size.

The sample is knit with La Bien Aimée Helix yarn in Emeline (MC) and Hegelia (CC).

Needles :
Main Fabric : 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles with appropriate length to knit in the round and magic loop or DPNs.
Seed Stitch & I-cords : 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles with appropriate length to knit in the round
or sizes required to get gauge

Gauge :
26 st x 28 rnds per 10 cm – 4” with larger needles in stranded knitting after blocking

Notions :
Stitch markers, tapestry needle and scissors
Sewing machine and / or crochet hook of the same size as your main needles
Scrap yarn for steeking and to place st on hold

Telluric est un pull loose à épaules tombantes tricoté du bas vers le haut avec des motifs de jacquard sur le corps et des détails texturés. Il se commence par le bas fendu en point de riz marbré. Le corps est ensuite tricoté en rond avec un dessin de jacquard floral jusqu’aux emmanchures. Des steeks sont montés pour les emmanchures, puis pour l’encolure pour continuer à tricoter le haut du corps en rond. Les steeks sont ensuite ouverts et les épaules jointes avec un rabat à trois aiguilles. Les manches sont relevées et tricotées vers le bas jusqu’aux poignets en point de riz marbré. Enfin, des I-cords sont créés tout autour des bords du pull pour une finition nette.
Avec un tutoriel de chaque étape du steek, Telluric vous permettra de vous familiariser avec la technique.
Le modèle a été tricoté en tenant toujours deux fils de Helix ensemble ; créant un jacquard doux et uniforme et permettant aux textures marbrées de ressortir. Si vous souhaitez tenir en double deux fils dentelle différents (un avec du mohair ou de l’alpaga par exemple), ou si vous voulez simplement utiliser un seul fil de fingering tout du long, le patron contient des instructions pour obtenir un résultat similaire sur les sections en point de riz.

Les fils sont tenus en double tout au long du tricot. Vous pouvez choisir de doubler le fil avec lui-même ou avec un autre fil dentelle. Pour utiliser un seul fil fingering à la place, prévoyez seulement 1 x le métrage noté pour votre taille.
