These toe-up socks are quite different from those you've come to expect. The foot is knit flat, and only worked in the round from the cuff, which is then worked in short rows to provide a "tab" at the back of the heel, common in really short socks so they don't get lost in your shoe. The way the sole and instep are joined gives a neat "zip" of colour along the side.
