Signposting in Presentations · B1+ · Will AI Take Our Jobs? | No-Prep ESL Academic English Lesson
A ready-to-teach B1+ Academic English lesson on signposting in presentations, built around AI and the future of work.
Students compare two openings of the same talk, read a model student presentation and find 14 signposts. They sort them into five jobs (introduce, move on, add or contrast, refer and conclude), learn a clear three-part structure and a formal academic style, race in teams, then plan and give their own 2-minute mini-presentation while a partner ticks off each signpost they hear.
What's inside (one PDF):
- 12 colourful slides to project, with answer keys straight after each activity
- 4-page A4 exercise sheet: teacher's notes, answer key and a 2-page student worksheet
- Compare-the-openings lead-in, guided discovery, team race and mini-presentations
- Easier and Harder options, plus an exit ticket and free homework links
Level: B1+ · Time: 60–70 minutes · Prep: none. Print, project and teach.
