What you will recieve in this book is:
-OVER 400 PHOTOS, ILLUSTRATIONS AND CHARTS. This is by design because pictures speak a thousand words and people learn visually much easier than reading a thousand pages of black and white copy.
-PROS AND CONS OF EACH TYPE OF ROOF SYSTEM.
Why is this important to know? This helps you eliminate competition without even saying a word about your competitor. Imagine, two competitors pitch PVC (which does have advantages too) and you pitch TPO. You ask the building owner, who currently has PVC on his building, "Is hail damage a concern for you?" He or she says, "Yes, I've replaced my roof 3 times in the last 10 years due to hail damage." (Boom, you just found a hot button!) You reply, "Sir, ma'am, are you aware that PVC is the MOST susceptible to hail damage of all single ply commercial roof coverings?" They reply, "I was not aware." You reply, "Well, it is (as you show the page of pros and cons of PVC along with pictures of hail damage). Allow me to share with you why I believe [Pick one: TPO, OR EPDM, OR BUR] may be a better solution...(and go through the pro's and con's of those solutions with the owner right on your tablet). At the end of the day, because you have mastered the pro's and con's of each type of commercial roof system, you are able to get to the hot button quickly and allow the building owner to make an informed decision. Moreover, you eliminate your competiton through education. That's why this book works. A confused buyer will NEVER buy from you. An informed buyer will!
But for you PVC fans, let me reverse the scenario. Let's say you have two competitors pitching TPO and one pitching EPDM. You think PVC is the smartest choice for the client due to it's high resistance to grease and excellent resistance to fire. You ask the building owner, who owns 3 restaurants, "Considering the cooks are working on an open flame, would it be fair to say the risk of fire damage is a pretty high concern of yours?" They reply, "Yes, always a concern." You reply (while showing the page that shows all three membranes being subjected to a fire test), "Every solution has their pro's and con's, but one huge advantage that PVC membranes have over TPO and EPDM is fire resistance. As you can see by these pictures, PVC is extremely fire-resistant. As this comparison shows, when PVC was subjected to fire, it self extinguished in 13 seconds, where as TPO and EPDM burned all the way through for several minutes. How do you feel about that?" (Of course they are blown away because THEY LEARNED SOMETHING! ) And wallah, the owner appreciates you showing them this information and if the price is right, buys from you because you found that fire resistance is the most important consideration of the buyer. Say good-bye to your competiton without saying a single bad word about them.
EXTENSIVE GLOSSARY OF ROOFING TERMS AND PRODUCTS. I not only define what these terms are, but I give you useful information you can use. Example: Are you aware the metal roofs such as R-Panel have 3 types of coatings? Do you know what G-30 is? G-60? G-90? Answer: "G-90, the most common zinc thickness used in the metal roofing industry, means that 0.90 ounces of zinc are coated per square foot of steel surface. Lesser grade galvanized steels are G-30 and G-60 and should usually be avoided for residential applications." Believe it or not, alot of competitors sell G-30 and G-60 coated R-PANEL! Imagine informing a building owner of these differences. Once again, the building owner likes you because you are EDUCATING THEM!
LARGE SECTION DEVOTED TO HAIL DAMAGE. Do you know what an EDS test is on metal roofs? If you did, you would get your metal roofs approved by adjusters nearly every single time. No more "it's cosmetic, so we aren't paying for it."
GUIDELINES ON HOW TO PROPERLY INSTALL COMMERICAL ROOFS
MANUFACTURER COMPARISONS AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS.
And much more.
Put this on your tablets, your laptops, your desktop and even your phones and you can instantly educate a building owner to help them make a wise decision and earn their trust! This allows you to visually show the decision maker/building owner what you are proposing! The result is the owner REMEMBERS you and your solutions over the competition because everyone else just comes in with a scope and quote typed up on plain paper and 95% of building owners have no clue what they are talking about. But once you VISUALLY show an owner/decision maker what you are offering and give them the ability to make a sound decision by examing/understanding the pros and cons of each roofing system (thoroughly outlined in this book), your chances of closing the sale skyrockets!
In short, this book covers Built Up Roofs (BUR), Modified Bitumen, EPDM, PVC, TPO, SPF (Spray Foam), Elastomeric Roof Coatings, SSR (Standing Seam Roofs), Metal Profiles, Kynar Coatings, R-Panel, A-Panel, U-Panel, Retrofitting Existing Roofs, Fastening Methods, Roof Insulation Types, Cover Boards, How to Identify Roof Leaks, Roof Accessories, Identifying Hail Damage and much much more.
