An elegant triangular shawl worked from end to end. Beads highlight the diamonds created by the lacework and add a little sparkle to the finished shawl. 

Yarn: 100 (130) g 4 ply weight yarn, approximately 350 m / 100 g.

Shown in: Little Orchard Alpacas Superfine 4 Ply; 4 ply; 100% alpaca; 350 m / 380 yds per 100 g; Silver Marble.

Needles: 3.5 mm / US 4 needles for working flat.

Notions: Tapestry needle, 135 (150) size 4 mm / 6/0 beads, fine crochet hook for beading.

Skills: Cast on, working flat, knit, purl, increasing stitches, lace, decreasing stitches, adding beads (optional), weaving in ends.

Gauge: 24 sts and 22 rows over 10 cm / 4” in lace pattern after firm blocking. Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but different gauges will affect size and yardage requirements.

Sizing: Instructions are given for two sizes of shawl, small (large). Measurements are approximately 135 (145) cm / 53 (57)” along longest edge, with a depth of 18 (22) cm / 7 (8 ½)” at the centre after firm blocking. The shawl can be resized by working more, or fewer, repeats of the increase and decrease sections.
