The Initial Sounds Reading Books provide a way for parents and teachers to consolidate learning of the initial sounds.
The steps are simple:
- Teach the child the sound the sound each letters stands for
- Trace the letter and say the sound
- Look for things on each page that begin with that sound.
These books can be used either to teach each new sound, or as revision once each group of sounds has been taught.
I like to use them as the latter telling the child 'Look - you can read this book!'.
