Millma is a fingering weight colourwork hat that features a graphic twist on a classic motif. With rare floats to catch and only two colours per round it makes a nice first stranded colourwork project or an easy sample to try colour associations.
The chart comes in colour, print friendly black and white as well as a colour-in version.

Yarn :
You will need three colours of fingering weight yarns in the following amounts :
MC : 200 meters / 220 yards
CC1 : 100 meters / 110 yards
CC2 : 20 meters / 22 yards
Sample was knit in Holst Garn Supersoft in Nougat (MC), Vintage Heather (CC1) and Gold Crest (CC2).

Needles :
Main Fabric : 2.75 mm (US 2) circular needles
Brim : 2.25 mm (US 1) circular needles

Gauge :
35 st x 33 rounds = 10 cm / 4 inches using larger needles in stranded knitting after blocking

Size :
48 cm finished circumference, fits 50-57 cm head.
The pattern provides instructions to adjust the size using a different gauge.

note : Millma is a Quechuan word for wool. I have long studied the people’s history, especially in relation to their fiber art traditions. The lines of this colourwork felt deeply rooted in the aesthetic of the architecture found in sites left by the Inca, which is why I chose to reflect that in the pattern name.

Millma est un bonnet en jacquard en laine fingering avec une version graphique d’un motif traditionnel. Avec peu de croisements de fils et seulement deux couleurs par rang c’est un bon premier projet en jacquard ou un projet simple pour essayer des associations de couleurs.
Le diagramme est proposé en couleur, noir et blanc pour impression ainsi qu’en version à colorier.

Laine :
Vous aurez besoin de trois couleurs de laine fingering avec le métrage suivant :
CP : 200 mètres
CC1 : 100 mètres
CC2 : 20 mètres
Le modèle est tricoté avec Holst Garn Supersoft coloris Nougat (CP), Vintage Heather (CC1) et Gold Crest (CC2).

Aiguilles :
Principales : aiguilles circulaires numéro 2,75 mm (US 2)
Côtes : aiguilles circulaires numéro 2,25 mm (US 1)

note : Millma est un mot Quechua pour laine. J’ai longtemps étudié l’histoire de ce peuple, en particulier leurs traditions autour de l’art du fil. Les lignes du jacquard m’ont semblées profondément ancrées dans l’esthétique des sites archéologiques Inca, c’est pourquoi j’ai choisi un nom qui reflète cela.
