Ozono: la Revolución en Odontología - Parte II - La Tríada del Ozono
As a clinician and educator in dental ozone therapy, I consider the ozone triad proposed by Dr. Sabbah to be a logical model that makes the use of ozone in dentistry easier to understand.
Dentists are used to working with established protocols, and we often don’t stop to think about why we use a particular dose in each application. For beginners this is helpful: it is more comfortable and provides confidence when one does not yet have a deep understanding of the science of ozone. The ozone triad, however, allows the more advanced dentist to apply ozone therapy with greater freedom, understanding the reasoning behind each application. This broadens their analytical and clinical skills in every case and improves clinical outcomes.
Since Prof. Edward Lynch’s Ozone: The Revolution in Dentistry (2004), when ozone was used mainly in gaseous form and at doses limited by the evidence available at the time, many colleagues have stayed with that approach. Today there is growing evidence on the use of ozonated water, which considerably expands the therapeutic possibilities. Understanding how to manage the dose according to the demand and transfer in each case makes it possible to get the best out of both forms, gas and ozonated water.
I recommend this book to every dentist who wants to move from following protocols to truly understanding ozone therapy.
