Garlands of tulip-shaped flowers loop around the Tulip Parade Cowl in bursts of color and texture.

Only one color of yarn is used at a time. The ‘tulips’ are created using slipped stitches and slipped stitch cables. The cowl begins with the bottom with ribbing that frames the tulip stitches at the center. Decreases worked in pattern help to shape the cowl so that the top is narrower than the bottom.

This cowl is a perfect project for a variegated yarn plus a solid for the background color. It could also be worked in two solids or in a single color.

Knitters may adjust the circumference of the cowl by casting on more of fewer stitches. Please note that changing the size of the cowl will affect the amount of yarn needed.

Instructions are both written and charted.
