Training Overview by Day
Day One – You as a Leader
The first day begins with deep self-reflection. You will explore your interpersonal communication style, leadership approach, and how your behaviors impact others. The second half of the day focuses on regulations and core rules to strengthen your ability to operate a compliant child care business and avoid common, and often devastating, administrative pitfalls.
Day Two – Community, Policy, and Protection
You will examine your program’s relationship with families, staff, and the broader community. Together, we will review laws and customize policies that protect your mission while reducing conflict and risk.
Day Three – Children, Classrooms, and Practice
This is an interactive and engaging day focused on children—the “why” behind everything we do. You will explore learning environments, assessments, and developmentally appropriate practice (DAP), and learn how to support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction that distinguishes education from babysitting.
Day Four – Money Matters and Marketing
The final day focuses on financial management and community communication. You will gain foundational tools for budgeting, sustainability, and marketing. Each participant will deliver a five-minute presentation on a topic every ECE director must understand. This presentation will also contribute to your Professional Development Plan.
What You Will Gain
By the conclusion of this training, you will:
● Gain insight into your leadership strengths and growth areas
