✦ A note on the irises:The irises at Ayame Genya had not yet bloomed during this visit. But the wide, open meadow under the Hokkaido sky was beautiful in its own quiet way — a reminder that in nature, the journey matters as much as the destination.

All photographs were taken on location in eastern Hokkaido, Japan, by a Japanese photographer who lives in Hokkaido.
