Scribus Desktop Publishing is the perfect solution for all your publishing needs. Create club newsletters to small newspaper productions to animated interactive PDF presentations to corporate stationery and brochures, small posters and other documents which need flexible layout and/or the ability to output to professional quality image-setting equipment.

While the goals of the program are for ease of use and simple easy to understand tools, it offers support for professional publishing features, such as CMYK color, sophisticated "press-ready" PDF creation, EPS and PDF import/export and creation of color separations and optionally very complete ICC color management.

The program supports many major graphic formats including almost all of the standard ones used in desktop publishing in addition to SVG import and export.

PDF support includes transparency, encryption, and a large set of the PDF 1.5 specification, as well as PDF/X-3, including interactive PDFs form fields, annotations, and bookmarks.

Scribus Desktop Publishing supports most major bitmap formats, including TIFF, JPEG, and Adobe Photoshop. Vector drawings can be imported or directly opened for editing. The long list of supported formats includes Encapsulated PostScript, SVG, Adobe Illustrator, and Xfig.

*Please note this software uses its own format so it is not compatible with Microsoft Publisher .pub files. Microsoft Publisher .pub is a propriety format so it can only be opened using Microsoft Publisher. There is no other software that is compatible with this format. This software is an excellent alternative if you do not need to open .pub files.
