A man finds a deep well with water at the bottom. He wants to know the minimum length of the rope he must use to tie to a bucket, to draw water from the well. He only has a watch with him.
Explain how he can find the depth of the well (so that he will know the length of the rope he needs), just by using the watch and the knowledge of free-fall.
(no measuring tapes or any such tools are allowed)
