WHY THIS EXISTS

You didn't run out of hours. You ran out of energy. Time-blocking assumes the day holds still long enough for your schedule to survive contact with it. It doesn't. A meeting runs over, something goes wrong, your brain just stops — and now the whole grid is wrong, and somehow so are you.

The Day doesn't track hours. It tracks a budget you actually have. Some days that budget is ten. Some days it's two. Both are valid starting points — the system doesn't fail when the number is small. Only when you pretend it's bigger than it is.

HOW IT WORKS

Every task gets a number from the Energy Scale — 1 for no-decision-required, 8 for the deep work you'd protect a whole morning for — before it gets a slot in the Daily Budget. Three Non-Negotiables get funded first, regardless of the day's total; everything else is bonus, funded only if points remain. When something unplanned eats energy anyway, the Interruption Log accounts for it, so the day "going sideways" has a receipt instead of just a feeling.

The Weekly Energy Pattern shows the shape of your week instead of judging single days in isolation. And for the day your budget really is one or two points, the Rock-Bottom Day protocol is explicit: one non-negotiable, the smallest one, and nothing else needs defending, explaining, or making up tomorrow.

WHAT YOU GET

20 pages, undated, drawn natively in both A4 and US Letter.

THE MECHANIC

· The Energy Scale — a 1-to-8 reference for costing any task

· The Daily Budget — today's total, spent line by line

· Non-Negotiables vs Bonus — what gets funded first

· The Interruption Log — what derailed the day, and why it wasn't you

· The Evening Debrief — ninety seconds, not a journal entry

THE PATTERN

· The Calibration Log — estimated vs. actual cost, so guessing improves

· The Recharge Ledger — what actually refills the budget, not just spends it

· The Weekly Energy Pattern — the shape of your week, at a glance

· The Rock-Bottom Day — the strict minimum for a 1-2 point day

· The Batch Day — grouping tasks by cost to cut the tax of switching

· The Delegation Filter — before spending your points, ask if it needs to be you

RUN IT

· The Weekly Rhythm — how every module fits one week

· The Dashboard — the whole system on one page, reprint it weekly

· Two cut-out cards: the Energy Scale, and the Rock-Bottom Rule

· Notes on Method, and the Restart for after a burnt-out stretch

There are no lined notes pages, no journal prompts, no reflective essay questions and no hourly grid. Every page asks you to select, calculate or execute.

HOW IT WORKS AFTER YOU BUY

1. Your files are available immediately after payment, under My Purchases, and a download link is emailed to you as well.

2. Both A4 and US Letter are included.

3. Print at 100% with "fit to page" off, or open it on a tablet in GoodNotes, Notability or any PDF app. Reprint any page, any time. It is undated, so it never expires.
