- Notes from the Artist: Sea Stories captures a time in my life while living in the Pacific Northwest. The Navy has given our family the gift of many adventures and new places to call home. I captured this image one day as I was awaiting my husband’s ship to return. While my love, my heart was at sea, these ships were ashore, promising reunion. Using infrared to capture these vessels of manmade exploration gave me a new way to view the pieces of humanity out in nature. Exploring the little islands in Washington State gave me a sense of peace. It reminded me to take time, to stop, to listen, and to embrace the world around us.
