Ebrahim Golestan — Tide and Mist

Ebrahim Golestan (1922–2023), writer and filmmaker, was one of the makers of modern Persian prose. Tide and Mist (Mad-o Meh), three stories, appeared in Tehran in 1969. A childhood remembered through Baba, the old servant who raised the family’s children; a night of mist, talk and silence by the river; two strangers in an airport bar. Golestan’s prose moves between memory and the present, between what is said and what is held back. This edition prints every Persian paragraph with its English translation beneath it.

ابراهیم گلستان (۱۳۰۱–۱۴۰۲)، نویسنده و فیلمساز، از سازندگان نثر نوین فارسی است. «مد و مه»، سه داستان، نخستین بار در سال ۱۳۴۸ در تهران چاپ شد. در این ویرایش، هر بند فارسی همراه با ترجمهٔ انگلیسی‌اش آمده است.
