Seocheon Coast

My extended family has ties to Seocheon in South Korea, and when I visited here for the first time, I was enchanted by the dramatic shapes of the myriad rocks and islets jutting out of the sea, many topped with graceful pine trees that were twisted and shaped by time and tide. It was very hot when I walked along this shore, and the sea haze cast an ethereal greenish-yellow light all around us, the color itself cooling and soothing in that muggy heat. I tried to express my own sense of wonderment through the body language of the man standing by the islet. I somehow had a feeling he could feel the power of the place as much as I did.
