Job Application and Interview Tracker

Keep every job application, follow-up, interview round and offer in one spreadsheet. Follow-up dates and reminders fill in automatically, so you can see at a glance who to chase and which applications have gone quiet.

WHAT IT DOES

• Applications: track up to 300 jobs with company, role, location, source, date applied, status, contact, next action, salary range, link and notes. Source and status are dropdowns.
• Automatic follow-up date: date applied plus your follow-up days (7 by default, change it in Settings).
• Automatic flag: "Follow up now" when the follow-up date has arrived, "Stale" when an open application is older than your stale limit (21 days by default). Flags only apply to Applied, Screening and Interview.
• Interviews: one row per round with date, time, type, interviewer, prep notes, questions to ask and thank-you sent. Pick the company from a dropdown and the role fills in.
• Offer Comparison: up to 4 offers side by side: base pay, bonus, leave days, commute cost, other monthly costs you choose to include, benefits notes, reply deadline. Monthly pay and monthly pay minus commute are worked out for you. It shows the numbers only; it does not rank or recommend.
• Dashboard: counts by status and by source, response rate, interviews this month, upcoming interviews and applications per week for the last 8 weeks.

WHAT'S INSIDE

• 1 .xlsx spreadsheet with 6 tabs: Start Here, Settings, Applications, Interviews, Offer Comparison, Dashboard
• 15 SAMPLE applications, 6 SAMPLE interview rounds and 2 SAMPLE offers with fictional companies ("Sample Co A" and so on), so you can see it working before you clear them
• Coral cells for typing, blue-grey cells that calculate. No macros, no add-ons.

HOW TO USE IT

• An .xlsx spreadsheet with no macros. Tested in LibreOffice Calc; not yet opened in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Open the .xlsx in your spreadsheet app.
• Start with the Start Here tab. It shows exactly which cells to clear to remove the samples.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Digital download, nothing is posted.
• Checked by recalculation.
• Flags and the Dashboard use today's date. You can set a different report date in Settings.
