ABOUT SUGAR SKULL CULTURE



In Mexico, calaveras are traditionally made from sugar, which represent the sweetness of life. They are also based in the Mexican belief system that death is always present in a person's life. They remind us to enjoy all the special moments while we have them.

I find calaveras to be a fitting them for those of us who live with chronic illness and disability. My sugar skull collections tend to sell out fast. They're one of the most popular items in my studio.

My prices are set for customers outside of Taiwan. The cost of mailing and packaging pops the price up considerably. Artwork featured in my shop for Taiwan residents is NT$350 to NT$450 on average, plus the cost of shipping through Family Mart or 7-Eleven. (Add NT60)
