Bring the Greek myth of Persephone and Hades to life with illustrated sequencing, speaking and writing activities. Children read the myth, order eight story pictures, plan a retelling and write the events in their own words.

Suggested ages: 7–11, with support matched to each child.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• 9-page printable PDF

• An illustrated retelling with all eight story pictures and a useful word bank

• An eight-part story map

• Eight cut-out picture cards that fit the story-map boxes when printed at 100% / actual size

• Two Sequence and Write pages with four story parts per page and five writing lines beside each picture

• Cut-and-stick captions for children who need support with independent writing

• Teacher guidance, discussion prompts and terms of use

HOW TO USE

Read and discuss the myth together. Cut out the picture cards, mix them up and sequence the events. Follow the story-map arrows to rehearse a retelling aloud before writing. Children can write independently, dictate their ideas to an adult, or match and stick the captions beside the pictures.

This pack follows the six-pomegranate-seed version, in which Persephone spends six months each year in the Underworld. Explore how the myth imagines an explanation for the changing seasons, alongside characters' feelings and the consequences of events.

Ideal for Greek myths topics, literacy lessons, oral storytelling, sequencing practice and small-group work. The activity pages use black-and-white illustrations and Quicksand font for clear printing.
