Dobro tuning is two G major triads stacked on top of each other, built for a steel bar held straight. This guide is about what that straight bar can and can't do.
The main section is a table of ten chord types you can get from a straight bar by moving it and choosing strings, each drawn as a lap-steel neck diagram with the notes on the fret wire. The table tells you, for example, where the minor chord is and why the dominant 7 needs a slant. It also covers strings and set-up, the neck as a chord lookup table, working the bar, and the blues moves, with full-neck maps, scale maps and three phrases in tab.
It's written for square-neck resonator and lap-style guitar, and most of it applies if you play upright with a bottleneck.
