Fistral Scarf
Surfs Up! Fistral is one of the main surf beaches in Cornwall. Created by one of those beautiful skeins of 4 ply yarn at yarn shows, you know those pretty colours and you end up buying just the one thinking you’ll do something with it. Well before you know it you have a box full of them. This is what has led me to this pattern. A single 400m or thereabouts skein of 4ply yarn. It measures 20cm / 8 inches wide and 192cm / 74 inches long.
Skill Level
You will be using the knit and purl stitch with increases created by a yarn over and decreases by knitting two stitches together. The scarf has a small i-cord edge on one side and textured edge created by knit stitches on the other. Once the width is reached the scarf is continued straight before decreasing back to the point. Instructions are charted (see last page) and written.
Materials Needed
4ply (fingering) yarn, 100g which is usually around the 400 meter mark
4mm (US6) straight knitting needles
Moveable stitch marker
Needle for sewing in your two ends
