AS332M Super Puma Helicopter (1:120)
The Aérospatiale AS332M Super Puma is a French four-bladed, twin-engine, medium utility military helicopter developed during the 1970s as an enlarged and re-engined evolution of the earlier SA 330 Puma. The fuselage was redesigned to increase its damage tolerance and crashworthiness, and composite materials were more extensively used, with a pair of more powerful Turbomeca Makila turboshaft engines replacing those of its predecessor. By 1980, the Super Puma had succeeded the SA 330 Puma as Aérospatiale's principal utility helicopter, quickly proving itself to be a commercial success for both military and civilian customers. The AS332M is the dedicated military transport variant, serving with armed forces around the world in roles ranging from troop transport to search and rescue — including notably with the Republic of Singapore Air Force's 125 Squadron.
Here's our version of this helicopter(red and white variant) in 1:120 scale, made to be compatible with nano figures, or nano soldiers from Brickmini. Replicating a helicopter at this scale is always a tricky proposition — getting the rotor geometry right, the tail boom proportions, and that distinctive bulky fuselage all to sit together convincingly in miniature form takes some patience. The one play feature on this model is the main rotors, which can spin freely.
