This pattern goes together quickly. Your surprise bonus is the secondary patterns formed when your blocks are joined. The HST are made with the strip piece method which makes a lot of HSTs quickly. However, it does mean that the edges are on the bias, meaning they are stretchy. If you do not wish to use this method you will need a bit more of each of the fabrics. The pattern includes instructions on different methods for making HSTs.
