Mini Santa Hat

Ho Ho Ho! This adorable little hat can be used as a tree decoration, festive bottle topper or you could string a few together for some mini-hat bunting! It also makes a cute little hat for Frosty the Snowman

This pattern includes instructions on how to knit the hat in the round on double pointed needles, and also how to knit the hat flat on 2 needles and seam at the end. 

Please note that this mini hat is designed for decoration purposes only and is not a toy.

Skills / Techniques Used: Knitting in the round on double pointed needles, increases, decreases

Measurements: The finished size of your mini hat will be 3.5” / 9cm high and 3” / 7.5cm wide. 

Materials

For each mini hat you will need:

• Yarn A - 5g / 0.18oz, 7.5yd / 7m of chunky yarn for the brim and bobble colour. The yarn used in the pattern picture is Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky, 100% Acrylic, 100g / 3.5oz, 149yd / 136m per ball, in Paper White
• Yarn B – 5g / 0.18oz, 7.5yd / 7m of chunky yarn in a contrast colour for the main body of the hat. The yarn used in the pattern picture is Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky, 100% Acrylic, 100g / 3.5oz, 149yd / 136m per ball, in Rose Red
• A set of 4-5 x US size 6 / 4mm double pointed needles
• A tapestry needle

Gauge is not vital to the Mini Santa Hat but as a guideline the yarn should knit to 20 stitches and 28 rows to 4” / 10cm in stockinette stitch after blocking
