This book is based on the making, coronation and installation ceremonies of Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa, the Oba (King) of the Great Benin Kingdom and was crowned on March 23, 1979, as the 38th Oba of Benin Kingdom, and to show the relationship between place memory and meaning in the continuity of Benin Kingship, the invention of tradition, the rites of passage, palace memories and the ethnic identity of the Edo people.
