Bluebird and the Sunflower Bookmark

I designed this sunflower addition to my Bluebird and the Daisy bookmark as a mark of recognition to the conflict in Ukraine when war first broke out. Now at the third anniversary and in light of the happenings over the last week I thought it appropriate to re-release it as a free pattern to share.

Skill level

Using US terminology throughout the Bluebird is created using a mixture of single, double and half double stitches whilst the Sunflower is a simple three rounds.

Materials

Double knit yarn in blue, green, brown and yellow

Black embroidery thread of black yarn

3.5mm crochet hook

Small amount of stuffing for the bird

Sewing needle and scissors

Finished size

The Bluebird is approximately 5cm wide and 4cm tall, the Sunflower is approximately 6cm in diameter
