The book is bilingual, German and French, issued in 1909 in Mönchengladbach (Germany)  and written by Joseph Cardinal Hergenroether. 
The book describes all popes.until 1909 and with images (like a medallion).

A second part of the book was by the famous artist Hugo Ströhl on the arms of the popes. This includes 9 full colour plates.
