This Sweater has been almost 3 years in the making! … Ever since I published my first Adult garment design, the Mix and Match Cardigan pattern, back in 2018, I’ve been consistently asked if I would be releasing a Pullover version of the pattern. My answer was always “Someday”, life and other work commitments always got in the way and honestly I was just waiting for the perfect yarn to come along!

The yarn I used for this design is a beautifully marled yarn that was dyed as fibre and then mill spun, to create this handspun effect! It is not currently availble from the dyer (Brooke) who produces and sells this yarn (FullySpun) but She is in the process of getting things in place to be able to start offering this yarn again soon. So please be sure to follow her instagram (@iamfullyspun) and stay tuned for when she is able to offer this yarn again as it is really a pleasure to work with. She also dyes some other stunning colourways which would also look wonderful with this design.

The beauty of this pattern is that it is a great base design to show off whatever yarn you want to use for it, be it a super special sweater quantity of hand dyed yarn, budget friendly yarn or even handspun … the pattern comes with lots of options to choose between, from the textured version (which works particularly well for variegated yarns to break up the colours) to the plain stockinette version (which is great for beginner sweater knitters). Then you also have choices for the neckline and hemline of your sweater as well as a choice in yarn weight.

The sample was knit out of a DK weight of yarn but this pattern can also be knit using a worsted weight of yarn as long as you are able to achieve the correct gauge.

Pay What Works:

I have created THREE coupon codes so you can either purchase the pattern for full price, or with 20%, 40% or 60% discounts. I wanted to provide this pattern with a range of pricing options as I know not everyone can afford patterns at full cost. If you would like to support my channel and the work I am doing, and you have the means to do so then paying for this pattern at one of the higher price points is a great way to do that.

The listed price most accurately reflects the time and work that went into creating this pattern, however, if this is not financially accessible for you then please use one of the codes below.

20% off code - PWW20
40% off code - PWW40
60% off code - PWW60

What you will need:

Yarn – There are two weight options for this pattern, DK or Worsted, as well as two options for how you knit the pattern – stockinette or textured. See more exact yarn amount requirements in sizing chart below. Yarn used in the Textured sample – Fully Spun Yarns DK in the Super Green Colourway (213m/235yds per 100gm) – Alternatively you can also use fingering weight yarn held double.

· 700– 2200m (765 – 2405 yds) of DK or Worsted Weight Yarn (350-1050g)

Needles (used for the sample)–
4mm (US6) & 4.5mm (US7) 16inch (40cm) circulars, and longer cables for magic loop on sleeves or DPN’s.

Notions –
  • 3 Stitch markers
  • Beginning of Round Marker,
  • Scrap yarn (or stitch holders),
  • Tapestry Needle
Gauge – For all versions (stitch patterns and yarn weights) the gauge is 20sts/4inches and 28rows/4inches (this is for both Worsted and DK) – Gauge should be measured AFTER blocking.

For this reason it is vitally important that you swatch and use the right size needles to get correct gauge in the texture pattern, and for either weight you use, in order to get the correct sized garment. Knitting the garment at the incorrect gauge may result in a sweater that is smaller or larger than intended (and if larger you may not have enough yarn to complete the garment). The recommended needle sizes in the pattern reflect the sizes I used to get gauge.

The Texture Pattern for checking gauge is below. This is to be knit over a stitch count divisible by 4:
1.    Knit all stitches
2.    K2, P2 – repeat from start to end
3.    Knit all stitches
4.    P2, K2 – repeat from start to end

If knitting flat Row 1 is a Right Side row, and instructions are knit as shown when knit in the round as well.

Sizing – The pattern includes 11 adult sizes ranging from 28” chest circumference to 68”. You can knit the sweater with 0-6” inches of positive ease (0-15cm). Ensure you select a size that includes the amount of ease you wish to have in your finished sweater. Sample sweater is shown in the 44” size worn with 6” of positive ease.

Please see the sizing chart and schematic which is in the images section on the left.
