Course curriculum

Learn several mindfulness & movement break strategies to easily implement into your K-5 classroom setting for helping students manage stress, cope with difficult emotions, decrease impulsivity, gain self-control & focus and improve social-emotional learning skills to create a positive, supportive classroom! (webinar length: 1 hour)

Course includes:

  • A 1-hour on-demand/self-paced webinar
  • Certificate of Completion for 1 contact hour (0.1 CEUs) given after successful completion of quiz and survey at the end
  • This course counts for 1.25 PDUS for NBCOT after successful webinar and quiz completion

A CEU and a PDU are both units towards your license and certification, but are measured differently.

  • 1 contact hour = .1 CEU
  • .1 CEU = 1 PDU
  • 1 contact hour with an assessment taken at the end of the course = 1.25 PDUs for NBCOT
  • Hours Needed: NBCOT requires 36 PDUs for renewal.
  • Deadline: Due every 3 years by March 31st.

Additional Information: One contact hour earned through successfully completed education (workshops, seminars, online courses, or conferences) with an assessment component at the end of the program

(ie. scored test, project, paper) = 1.25 PDU.

*(see NBCOT PD unit calculator here: https://www.nbcot.org/MyNbcot/certificant/pducalculator)

Note: These units can typically be applied to your state license as well as NBCOT, but please check with your state licensing board.

Great news! As of 2024, NBCOT no longer requires AOTA pre-approval, they just require an assessment at the end of a professional development course (see NBCOT renewal activities guidelines here under #20: https://www.nbcot.org/-/media/PDFs/Renewal_Activities_Chart.pdf )

Per NBCOT Renewal Activity#20: Successfully complete education (e.g., workshops, seminars, lectures, online courses, or conference) with an assessment component at the end of the program (e.g., scored test, project, paper). The same workshop may be claimed only once for PDU per renewal cycle. 1 hour = 1.25 units. A certificate of attendance or a letter from the provider verifying contact hours or CEU, date(s), event title, attendee name, agenda, and indicates successful completion of assessment component at the end of the program (e.g., scored test, project, paper).
