Solo: Bird & Elephant
Play A Picture: Solos and Duets intend to inspire expression by descriptive titles and vivid photographs.
Bird & Elephant introduces techniques for contrast: loud versus soft, high versus low, staccato versus legato. These techniques can be used by the performer to help the listener "hear" the two characters in the music: the little, chirping birds in the trees and grasses, and the large elephant slowly walking by.
It also introduces the technique of embellishment notes not essential to the melody, however which adds character to the music.
Included with the Bird & Elephant Solo piece is Technique & Expression preparation for mastering notes and techniques used in Bird & Elephant.
