Iceland According to Martin
Iceland According to Martin is a different kind of guide to Iceland.
In 2005, Martin, a Slovak from Košice, spent eight months living and working in Iceland as a European volunteer.
He wasn't a tourist. He lived with other European volunteers, worked in Heiðmörk nature reserve near Reykjavík, experienced Icelandic everyday life and discovered the country from a very different perspective.
This book combines personal stories, practical travel advice and authentic memories and photographs from Iceland.
Inside you'll find:
• Reykjavík from a different perspective
• Icelandic everyday life and culture
• Hot pots and Icelandic traditions
• Practical advice for today's traveller
• Heiðmörk and life as a volunteer
• Personal stories from Iceland in 2005
• Authentic photographs from the author's time in Iceland
• Advice for travellers who want to experience more than the famous sights
This is not a traditional travel guide.
It is a personal journey through Iceland — combining the Iceland of today with memories from 2005.
This is Iceland According to Martin.
