Peru Double Cowl Knitting Pattern
This unique cowl is both practical and a work of art, suitable for Advanced Beginners. Hand knitted in the round, the pattern is inspired by traditional Peruvian textile designs from South America. Full comprehensive instructions are included in the pattern to show you how to work Woven Floats technique. (This is similar to stranded color work.) There's a picture chart and full written instructions for the chart as well.
The Peru Double Cowl can be draped down the front or back of your clothes. You can double it over for an extra warm neck or, try twisting and wrapping it up over your head to keep your ears warm. The border is bouclé yarn though you can use any textured, Aran weight yarn. How about eyelash yarn or a thick, cuddly hand spun yarn? The centre is made from two colors of fingering weight yarn combining to make an exquisite design that is bound to turn heads.
Use colors that are sympathetic to each other for a subtle, classy look or go for high contrast colors when you want a more dramatic effect. It’s a quick project that doesn’t take much yarn so is great for busting your stash.
