This piece is for any number of flautists of any flute-type (piccolo, standard C flute, alto flute, and/or bass flute). In an ensemble performance, all flute-types can be identical or a mixture of various flute-types. As such, all notated pitches should be read as technique directions and not resultant sounding pitches (regardless of the transposition of whatever instrument is being used). Flautist(s) are permitted to change flute-types during performances if they wish (this is not obligatory). There is an optional fixed-media electronics (F.M.E.) tape part that can be sounded alongside a live performance of this piece.
