USING LIGHTER WEIGHT FABRIC

Pattern instructions are for canvas. Home décor or quilting weight fabric may be used in place of duck canvas with the addition of one main panel of heavy interfacing, such as Pellon Peltex #70 or Annie’s Soft and Stable, basted behind the exterior; lining will be required to cover interfacing on the pocket and main panel. Other options include one main panel of home décor or quilting weight cotton over two main panels of canvas - OR - one main panel of home décor or quilting weight cotton over one main panel of quilt batting and one main panel of canvas.

When using lighter weight fabric for handles, to add stability and prevent stretching, insert 1 1/4” or 1 1/2" webbing inside straps prior to stitching.
