Going Forth by Day Music Inspired by Ancient Egypt is a full length program of music that is a celebration of ancient Egypt through a contemporary lens. This program includes four newly composed works by composer Andrew List including the world premiere of Three Hymns to Ra for Solo Viola and Going Forth By Day for Countertenor, Viola and Piano on texts from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, a set of 4000 year old ancient coffin scrolls.  The program will open with a pre- concert lecture given by an ancient studies specialist discussing the places and culture that inspired the music. Following the concert will be a question and answer period with the participants and the audience.
