Waiting Shawl crochet pattern

The Waiting Shawl is beautiful, but incredibly easy to make. It is the perfect project for beginners looking to try out their newly acquired stitches. It is also an excellent companion for a Netflix box set, for any waiting rooms and for car journeys.

The yarn used for the sample shawl is Debbie Bliss Cotton Denim DK in shade 4, but it can be made in any yarn with the appropriate hook size. A more experienced crocheter working with a finer yarn(such as 4ply merino or even lace weight) would achieve excellent results. I recommend using a hook one size larger than usual for the yarn. I used a 4.5mm hook for the sample. The shawl is worked from side to side and the sample was made by continuing until all the yarn was used up, so it is easy to make it smaller or larger without any adjustments to the pattern.
