"Leadership Reflection for Black Educational Leaders During Health and Social Unrest"
Presented June 13, 2020 to the BLAC membership
Now more than ever it is very difficult (dare I say painful) being a black educator, specifically a Black Educational Leader in a white educational system. It is even harder being a Black Educator in a predominantly white school or district. As educators who are born and raised in a country that has systemically marginalized black students, on a daily basis we are continuously fighting the systematic racism that we are trying to prevent our students from experiencing. Participants will learn how to identify the psychological processes, protocols, practices, procedures and privileged systems that are detrimental to black students.
