Pantsir S1
96K6 Pantsir-S1 (NATO classification code - SA-22 Greyhound) is a Russian self-propelled anti-aircraft missile and gun system (ZRPK) used to protect military installations from air attack. Development of the complex began in the early 1990s, and in 1995 it was first presented at the MAKS-1995 exhibition. The system consists of a radar complex for detecting and tracking targets, as well as two types of missiles - short-range and medium-range, which can hit targets at a distance of up to 20 km and an altitude of up to 15 km. In 2006, testing of a modern model of the complex on a modified KamAZ 6560 chassis officially began at the Kapustin Yar training ground. Testing of the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system took place during the 2006-2007 race at the Kapustin Yar and Ashuluk training grounds in the Astrakhan region. The last known modification was demonstrated at MAKS 2007. The decision on armament was made on November 4, 2012. Today, Pantsir-S1 is used not only in Russia, but also in other countries.
