Chain
Double Crochet: Yarn over, insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over, pull through a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops, yarn over again and pull through the remaining two loops (UK Treble Crochet)
What you will need:
4mm Crochet Hook also known as a G
Double Knitting yarn (You can actually change up the yarn and hook size to make bigger or smaller stars!)
A tapestry needle or any needle with a big enough eye to accommodate the yarn
